The Brand Ambassador is a contractor role working closely with Birmingham Corps’ team to recruit diverse talent and promote Birmingham Health Pathways. Birmingham Health Pathways is a Clinical Medical Assistant training program offered through a partnership between Birmingham Corps and Jefferson State Community College.
The Brand Ambassador will support this work by planning and executing recruitment events, building our diverse candidate pool, and creating social media assets for targeted audiences. The successful contractor will play a key role in connecting underestimated job seekers with job opportunities that have a positive impact in local communities, and increasing overall awareness of Birmingham Health Pathways.
Job Description
Birmingham Corps is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to serve as a Health Pathways Brand Ambassador. This contract role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in recruitment and marketing while contributing to Birmingham Corps' mission of fostering equity in the local social impact sector. The Brand Ambassador will play a key role in designing and executing recruitment campaigns, tracking their success, and increasing Birmingham Corps' visibility in local communities and networks.
Responsibilities
Design and Execute Recruitment Campaign (75%)
Identify or develop strategies to recruit diverse talent for Birmingham Health Pathways
Assist in the planning and hosting of in-person and virtual events in the local community, including college campuses
Post and/or distribute promotional materials to drive engagement at events and encourage candidates to apply for a healthcare job training opportunity
Increase awareness and knowledge of Birmingham Health Pathways among potential candidates and in the broader community
Data Collection and Analysis (15%)
Collect data to track effectiveness of recruitment strategies, including but not limited to; website traffic, social media engagement, and event attendance
Ensure data accuracy through strong systems and established routines
Regularly analyze data to both share progress with Partnerships team and make adjustments to strategy
Communication and Organization (10%)
Effectively use team systems for communication, including regular reporting of data
Be responsive to internal and external communication
Tailor communication for the platform and audience to drive attendance and engagement in a variety of ways while maintaining the vision and mission of Birmingham Corps
Internalize and incorporate key components of Birmingham Corps mission into all communication
Manage time independently and proactively communicate any challenges or needs around upcoming deadlines
Qualifications
Experience leading social media and other marketing campaigns
Self-starter with a strong work ethic; eager to learn and grow skills
Creative problem-solver with an asset-based mindset
Ability to set and track progress towards goals
Strong written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to different audiences
Tech-savvy with proficiency in social media platforms and Canva
Alignment with the mission and values of Birmingham Corps
Manages time with a flexible schedule; can attend/host events on nights and weekends
Reliable transportation in Birmingham area
Timeline and Compensation
This role is a 2-3 month contractual, temporary position starting immediately. The compensation will be at a rate of $20 per hour, up to 10 hours per week. The individual will begin in September 2024 through mid October 2024. This is a remote position with some in-person events.
