\nThe Staff Pharmacist in
\nOncology is responsible for providing patient-centered care in a
\nmultidisciplinary practice setting with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and
\nother personnel.
\n
\n Services provided include (but are not limited to):
\n
\n• Assessing patient therapy for
\nappropriateness, incorporating age specific modifications, and clinical
\ninterventions to prevent adverse drug events.
\n
\n• They will also conduct clinical
\nresearch and other professional development programs.
\n
\n• He/she will serve
\nas a liaison to other departments at the Cancer and Infusion Center by
\nproviding operational support and educational services for new treatment
\nregimens.
\n
\n• The Staff Pharmacist in Oncology demonstrates in-depth knowledge of
\nthe regulations governing the preparation of intravenous admixtures,
\nchemotherapy, and other sterile products and supervises Pharmacy technicians
\nand other support personnel.
\n
\n• Provides oversight and participates in
\nmaintaining and storing adequate inventory of all medication required for the
\npractice.
\n
\n• Develop and update department and nursing policies.
\n
\n• Work with the
\nOncology team to standardize ordering procedures for chemotherapeutic
\nmedications.
\n
