Job Description
Job Summary: The Process Operator I is responsible for performing various tasks related to manufacturing processes, ensuring that equipment, batch records, and production systems are properly maintained and operated according to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. This entry-level position involves working with supervisors and team members to maintain product quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform responsibilities in compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local regulations.
- Report process or equipment issues to the supervisor; perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain and update batch records, equipment log books, and other relevant records; perform batch record reconciliation.
- Record data on batch records to document the manufacturing process.
- Set up and operate equipment for processing operations.
- Communicate effectively with previous and incoming shift operators and related personnel to ensure seamless handoffs.
- Clean and maintain processing rooms and equipment.
- Monitor processes and equipment, making necessary adjustments to maintain batch record specifications.
- Monitor product quality and conduct in-process testing.
- Perform reconciliations and check calculations for accuracy.
- Review and verify labels and batch records for accuracy.
- Suggest improvements to methodology or processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Understand the concept of on-time production and delivery.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch record instructions.
- Comply with all company policies, including safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Required Qualifications: - Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 0-1 year of work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Regular periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and climbing.
- Visual acuity to monitor and read equipment and batch records.
- Effective oral communication skills with company management, peers, and co-workers.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds occasionally.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with noise levels ranging from moderate to loud, depending on machinery.
- Work may require the use of a respirator and participation in a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) for fit-testing eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus, but not required.
Certifications: Job-Specific Competencies: - Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in proper English grammar and punctuation, with effective oral and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills for checking and adjusting calculations.
- Ability to comply with all company safety rules and regulations.
