Job Summary:
We are looking for a Planview SQL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development and database management, coupled with experience working with Planview's PPM (Portfolio and Project Management) solutions. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing SQL queries and reports to support our organization's project management needs, as well as performing database integrations and data analytics. Key Responsibilities:
- Planview Integration & Configuration:
- Develop and maintain custom SQL queries, reports, and dashboards within Planview.
- Integrate Planview with other internal and external systems (such as HR, Finance, or CRM tools) using SQL and other integration methods.
- Collaborate with system administrators to ensure seamless integration and synchronization of Planview with other enterprise applications.
- SQL Query Development & Optimization:
- Write complex SQL queries for generating custom reports, data analytics, and visualizations within Planview.
- Perform query optimization and troubleshooting to enhance the performance of Planview reporting systems.
- Work with end users to understand their reporting and data needs, and develop SQL-based solutions to meet those requirements.
- Planview Reporting & Dashboards:
- Create custom reports using SQL queries and ensure they align with business requirements and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Build and maintain automated reporting workflows to track project progress, resource allocation, and financials.
- Design and optimize Planview dashboards for business stakeholders, leveraging SQL queries for data extraction.
- Data Analysis & Troubleshooting:
- Analyze and troubleshoot data discrepancies or issues within the Planview database.
- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of Planview data.
- Proactively identify and resolve performance issues with the SQL queries or Planview system.
- Database Maintenance & Performance Tuning:
- Ensure optimal performance of Planview databases, including periodic performance tuning and indexing.
- Support database maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Collaborate with the database administrator (DBA) team to implement best practices for database management.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:
- Work closely with business users, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and refine reporting requirements.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business teams, ensuring that SQL-based solutions meet business needs.
- Provide training and support to end users for report generation and understanding data within Planview.
- Continuous Improvement & Documentation:
- Document SQL queries, database schemas, reporting procedures, and system configurations.
- Stay up to date with Planview product updates, SQL best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
- Recommend enhancements to reporting processes or Planview configurations to improve efficiency and usability.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- SQL Expertise: Strong knowledge of SQL, including experience with writing complex queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
- Planview PPM: Experience with Planview PPM (Project Portfolio Management), including report generation and data extraction.
- Report Development: Ability to design, develop, and optimize custom reports and dashboards within Planview and using SQL.
- Database Management: Familiarity with database administration tasks, such as indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Data Integration: Experience with integrating external data sources with Planview using SQL or other integration methods.
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with SQL, database development, and reporting in a corporate environment.
- Experience with Planview (or similar PPM tools) is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, etc.) and modern data integration tools is a plus.

- Additional Skills (Desirable):

- Reporting Tools: Knowledge of reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS is a plus.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud databases and applications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Version Control: Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
