What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000/annually, based on experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location

In this position you can expect to work on site at the Wellington Webb Building, located at 201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202. The schedule will be determined at the time of hire, based on operational needs. Potential shifts include:

  • 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM

  • 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

  • 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM

  • 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM

  • 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Right of Way Enforcement Division of DOTI issues citations for both on-street, off-street, and private property parking violations. It administers vehicle booting and towing for the City, provides parking enforcement for sporting events, special events, holidays, concerts, and after-hours university events.

The Right of Way Enforcement (ROWE) Division of Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has an opening for a Parking and Speeding Enforcement Supervisor In this position, we’re looking for a strong, integral leader who can mentor, “operate through discipline” to reach team goals, who can coach to develop employees, and that is highly organized.

Specifically, as a Parking and Speeding Enforcement Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise employees involved in enforcing compliance with parking regulations, monitors enforcement to ensure compliance with all governing laws and regulations and recommends process improvements and changes in practices and procedures to increase operating efficiency and expedite workflow.

  • Plan, assign, and evaluate the work of staff members, provides technical expertise to staff, and establishes unit and staff work goals and objectives.

  • Work with various internal and external customers to resolve complaints and/or problems and answers a variety of questions/concerns.

  • Review, develop, and/or modify work plans, methods, and procedures; determine work priorities, and develops work schedules to provide adequate staff coverage. Provide work instruction, assists employees with difficult and/or unusual assignments, and encourages and leads innovation initiatives. Assigns and distributes work, reviews work for accuracy and completeness, and returns assignments with recommendations for proper completion.

  • Conduct hiring interviews and selects candidate(s) for job opening(s).

  • Resolve problems, mediates conflicts encountered during daily operations, determines appropriate solutions, and promotes teamwork. Encourage regular communication and informs staff of relevant business issues and their impact on the organization.

  • Develop goals, documents performance, provides performance feedback and formally evaluates the work of the employee; provides reward and recognition for proper and efficient performance. Assist staff to achieve performance standards and identifies opportunities for continual improvement to performance standards.

  • Ensure quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of unit activities and safety measures.

  • Effectively coaches and counsels’ staff to ensure performance goals and objectives are met.

  • Document causes for disciplinary action, initiates letters of reprimand, and makes formal recommendations for disciplinary action. Responds to formal and informal employee grievances and prepares written responses.

  • Experience working in a leadership, supervisor position

  • Ability to work with diverse individuals who may be direct reports or customers

  • Knowledge of curbside management and public right of way regulations to include parking ordinances.

  • Skills on integrating and building a team to reach department goals

  • Experience in driving innovations to improve efficiency

  • Strong communication skills to include verbal and written communication

  • Strong technical skills to include various hardware and software solutions

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of public contact experience involving the enforcement and/or explanation of laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Code Enforcement Commission issued by the City Executive Director of Safety within the first 30 days of employment.

  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
