Akkodis is seeking a Packaging Engineer for a 12+ Contract position with a client located in Maple Grove, MN

Pay Range: $45/hr - $49/hr ( The rate may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. )

Position Responsibilities

The R&D Packaging Engineer will apply Packaging R&D principles and work independently or as a team member to develop, direct, and execute plans for a major segment of complex projects. Under limited supervision, this role compiles, analyzes, and reports operational, test, and research data to establish technical specifications for designing new or modifying packaging, products, processes, and materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Fully participates in and successfully contributes to project teams by engaging in product packaging design and development, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process capability studies, research investigations, report preparation, and process/test documentation.
• Completes complex engineering tasks in technology development, packaging/product design and development, testing of materials or products, preparation of specifications, process studies, research investigations (including animal and clinical studies), and/or report preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of Packaging R&D experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical device experience.
• Familiarity with ISO 11607, relevant ASTM and ISTA standards, and Quality Systems.
• Working knowledge of paperboard, corrugated, flexible packaging films, Tyvek, thermoformed trays, injection molded parts, and packaging equipment.
• Experience in packaging process and equipment qualification.
• Understanding quality system controls (e.g., user needs, design inputs/outputs, verification/validation, etc.)
