Quail Valley Golf is committed to providing an exceptional golf and event experience, setting the standard for extraordinary customer service and meticulous attention to detail. As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and directing the entire facility and its operations.

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing the operations, growth, and strategic direction of the City's 36-hole golf course, event center and Bluebonnet Grill. This high-impact leadership role involves managing all aspects of the golf course, event center, and related facilities to ensure exceptional service delivery, financial sustainability, and alignment with Missouri City's vision for a premier destination. The GM will cultivate a collaborative team culture, drive revenue growth, enhance customer experiences, and position the Center as a top choice for recreational, social, and corporate events.

Examples of Work

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement a strategic business plan to maximize revenue, drive membership growth, and expand the event portfolio.
  • Collaborate with City leadership to align operations with community and municipal objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, innovations, and best practices to maintain competitive positioning.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings of the Local Government Corporation (LGC) Board, including the preparation of meeting agendas, and presenting at public meetings.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
  • Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the facility meets or exceeds its targets.
  • Implement timely adjustments and corrective actions to optimize operations and financial performance.
Financial Stewardship
  • Develop and manage the Center's annual budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and revenue generation.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze trends, and implement strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Pursue opportunities for grants, sponsorships, and partnerships to enhance financial resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial obligations and implement robust financial controls to safeguard assets and prevent losses.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee daily operations, including golf course maintenance, pro shop management, food and beverage services, and event coordination.
  • Establish and enforce standards for exceptional customer service and facility presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, safety regulations, and city policies.
  • Drive operational excellence by implementing innovative service delivery strategies and initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and empower the team to exceed customer expectations.

Risk Management
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to the facility's operations and reputation.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and industry best practices to minimize liability.
Talent Management
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-caliber team across for the Quail Valley Golf & City Centre.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Implement performance metrics and provide regular feedback to staff to ensure operational excellence.
Customer Experience & Community Engagement
  • Actively seek and incorporate guest feedback to continuously improve the overall experience. Implement strategies to exceed customer expectations and build lasting relationships.
  • Represent Quail Valley Golf at City functions and industry events. Build strong relationships with the City and local community to enhance the facility's reputation and attract new customers.
Facility Management
  • Collaborate with maintenance and landscaping teams to ensure the golf course remains in pristine condition year-round.
  • Oversee upgrades, renovations, and repairs to enhance the center's amenities and customer experiences.
  • Subject to 24 Hour Recall and Emergency Operations Recall.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Visionary thinker with the ability to balance operational details and strategic initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate complex ideas and information, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences. Demonstrate exceptional tact, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills to handle sensitive situations.
  • Experience in public-private partnerships and working with government entities is a preferred.
  • Financial forecasting and cost control.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Proficient in the use of technology for operational management and customer engagement.
  • Proven track record of financial management, marketing, and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of golf course operations, event center management, and community engagement strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.

Education, Experience, or Certification


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation, business administration, hospitality management, or a related field. (Master's preferred).
  • Seven (7) years of experience in golf course management, recreation facility operations, hospitality, or event planning with three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • PGA member preferred.
  • Required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
