About the Role:

We are seeking a highly professional and compassionate Funeral Assistant to join our team at Harkey Funeral Home. As a Funeral Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our funeral directors and ensuring that all funeral services run smoothly. You will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and sensitivity while interacting with grieving families and friends. Your primary goal will be to provide comfort and assistance during a difficult time.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as caskets
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor in a fast-paced and emotionally charged environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the funeral industry or related field
• Certification as a Funeral Service Assistant
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

• Assist funeral directors with funeral services, including setting up and cleaning up before and after services
• Greet and assist mourners, providing them with information and guidance as needed
• Drive funeral vehicles, such as hearses and limousines, in a safe and respectful manner
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of funeral home and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by funeral directors

As a Funeral Assistant, you will utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide comfort and support to grieving families and friends. You will also use your organizational skills to ensure that funeral services run smoothly and efficiently.
