We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Finance Director. This role is pivotal in driving the financial performance and strategic direction of our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities, including the creation of financial reports, direct investment activities, and implementing strategies to achieve the company's financial goals. Our ideal candidate has a solid background in both retail and hospitality accounting, with a strong understanding of financial systems such as JD Edwards.
Responsibilities:
As a Finance Director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the ledger.
- Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Managing intercompany transactions and ensuring all entries are reconciled accurately.
- Developing and managing the annual budget, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Ensuring financial compliance with all regulatory bodies and implementing effective internal controls.
- Providing strategic financial guidance and leadership, supporting business decisions with sound financial data.
- Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial performance, and drive business growth.
- Managing the company's financial systems, including JD Edwards, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Finance Director role should have the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior finance role, with a strong background in retail and hospitality accounting.
- Proficiency in financial systems, particularly JD Edwards.
- Demonstrated experience in managing month-end close, preparing income statements, reconciling accounts, and creating monthly reports.
- Extensive knowledge of financial principles and procedures, including ledger management, cash flow analysis, and budgeting.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to drive financial performance and implement strategic initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
