Job Description: Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic
· Repairs and maintains a diversified fleet of trucks and trailers and other equipment according to company preventive maintenance guidelines
· Performs scheduled maintenance including changing oil, filters, tires, brakes, checking lights, greasing, replace or repair light components and perform operations check
· Ensure all equipment is repaired up to Federal Commercial Motor Carrier DOT standards.
Responsibilities:
· Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy
· Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
· Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required
· Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
· Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Requirements:
· 2 years experience / past work references
· Valid driver's license
· Be able to lift up to 70 lbs., frequently stand, stoop, kneel, crawl
· High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
· Pass background and drug test
· Must be authorized to work in the United States
· Computer skills, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Internet Browser
· Valid CDL is a plus
· NYS Heavy Duty Inspectors license is a plus (not mandatory, must be willing to apply)
· Must have minimum tools to perform the maintenance and repair work
· Be motivated, proactive, focused and well organized
· Maintain high level of professionalism.
