Since 2008, Parks has partnered with Hilton and Marriott to develop a thriving portfolio of over 1,400 rooms spanning North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. We operate two rooftop restaurants in Asheville, NC, The Montford Rooftop Bar and Soprana Rooftop Cucina. Parks is excited to offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity for up to two Culinary Interns in Asheville during the summer of 2025.

The Role:

As a Culinary Intern , you’ll dive into an immersive, hands-on experience that goes beyond observation. Working under the guidance of skilled chefs and the Food & Beverage Director, you’ll gain practical knowledge in kitchen operations, food preparation, and menu development within a hotel and restaurant setting. The Culinary Internship is a paid position, designed to build your foundational culinary skills and provide real-world experience for your future career. The position will last 10 weeks (May - July).

What You'll Do:

  • Hands-On Culinary Training : Assist the Executive Chef and culinary team with food preparation, production, and catering assignments, including hotel-hosted events.
  • Recipe Development : Collaborate on creating and testing new recipes and menu items.
  • Technique Mastery : Learn and apply techniques such as baking, frying, sautéing, garde manger, and plating.
  • Event Suppor t: Participate in all aspects of food production, including set-up, execution, and breakdown for events.
  • Kitchen Operations : Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensure food safety standards, and monitor ingredient quality.
  • Inventory Management : Support food storage, stock control, and waste minimization efforts.

Qualifications for Your Journey:

  • Currently enrolled in a culinary arts, hospitality management, or related degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not required if enrolled in a culinary program.
  • Basic knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
