Requirements / Qualifications •High school diploma or equivalent
•ServSaf certified
•Menu Planning and Design Class certification
•Experience in quantity cooking and preparation of all foods pertaining to school food service
•Ability to prepare, cook and bake any food item used in compatibility with the National School Program
•Working knowledge and basic understanding of the care and use of utensils, cafeteria equipment, kitchen safety and sanitation
•Ability to prepare food in large quantities following standardized recipes
•Ability to work effectively with kitchen personnel and student help
•Ability to oversee, train, assign and direct work-related duties
•Ability to follow oral and written directions
•Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
•Ability to operate all mechanical appliances and equipment found in the kitchen
•Ability to perform all duties of subordinates
•May be required to do team lifting.
•Relate positively to school personnel and students
•Possess a philosophy and standard of excellence consistent with those of the district and community
•Exemplify those personality characteristics, appearance and grooming habits consistent with the district's standards for setting a desirable example for students
