Job Description
We are currently seeking a Compensation & Benefits Specialist for our client in Lincoln, NE. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring employee data is up-to-date, managing bi-weekly payroll processing, and maintaining the data related to various benefit programs.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the HRIS is functioning optimally, which includes system development, maintenance, and the introduction of new modules
• Provide technical support and guidance to HRIS users, and manage their permissions, access, and settings
• Collaborate with the Human Resources Director to identify necessary system improvements and enhancements, and lead efforts to implement these changes
• Prepare and process payroll in compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and tax regulations
• Monitor time reporting system to prevent payroll errors and contact relevant parties for information or adjustments when needed
• Handle payments for bonuses, commissions, and incentive programs
• Process payroll taxes in line with federal and state tax requirements
• Keep track of and deduct all garnishments and other required payroll deductions as per local, state, and federal regulations
• Ensure all employee data is accurate, process changes, and oversee the timely and accurate entry of new hires
• Create both standard and customized reports for Human Resources, Accounting, and other departments as needed
• Establish, maintain, and audit employee benefit records and files, ensuring enrollments, terminations, and changes are entered correctly and in a timely manner.
