Johns Hopkins is growing its exceptional care in Northern Virginia, with our new Arlington center in Ballston Quarter! The brand new multidisciplinary center offers primary care, cardiology, gynecology and obstetrics, urogynecology, pelvic health and ophthalmology. Johns Hopkins Medicine Cardiology is a full-service cardiology practice specializing in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and conditions like heart failure, atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease and high blood pressure. Our experts also perform vascular testing, accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, to diagnose and manage heart and vascular conditions. What Awaits You?
Position Summary:
The Cardiac Sonographer will perform a range of echocardiographic studies to diagnose a variety of vascular diseases, illnesses, and disorders under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager. Examinations may include Transthoracic, Exercise, and Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiograms.
Competencies:
Education: Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Vascular Technology acquired from an Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Program (CAAHEP) – accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required.
Knowledge: Knowledge of preparing patients
Skills: Sonographic skills are necessary to obtain and document a complete examination or research protocol. Ability to use on invasive echocardiography testing equipment.
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.: Registry eligible according to the guidelines established by The American Registry Of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) NOTE: Any Echocardiography Technicians must obtain registry upon employment. Must be able to obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
Work Experience: Six months of clinical scanning experience in a ambulatory care based environment. Scanning performed within an approved clinical internship will be considered adequate experience.
Shift: Full-Time (40 hours per week), Day Shift. No weekend or holiday work is required.
Salary Range: Minimum 31.45 per hour - Maximum 51.91 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
