Job Summary: Provides selected data management and analysis activities for a variety of projects in support of the Department and/or Division.

  • *Essential Responsibilities:**
  1. Assist in the design and management of data storage using Access, Excel and other relevant data management systems.
  2. Using SAS and other relevant statistical software, create analytic files by merging multiple, large databases including Medicare, and other complex claims-based data to meet the analysis goals.
  3. Carry out and conduct statistical analyses of large and small databases using SAS, SUDAAN and other related statistical software.
  4. Create tables and figures that accurately reflect the results of the analysis.
  5. Serve as a resource and help answer programming questions for Division's trainees (Research Fellows, Research Students) and Research Staff at the discretion of the Principal Investigator.
**Required Qualifications:**
  1. Bachelor's degree required in Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health. Master's degree preferred in health-related field
  2. 1-3 years related work experience required.
  3. Proficient in running SAS statistical analysis procedures required. Understanding of statistical concepts and SAS procedures; familiarity with epidemiological and quality assurance principles.
  4. Prior research experience required.
  5. Must be able to create analytic files by merging multiple, large databases; formatting; recording; and subsetting data to meet the analysis goals. Must be able to create tables and figures that accurately reflect the results of the analysis.
  6. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
**Preferred Qualifications:** 1. Familiarity with SUDAAN and STATA preferred. **Competencies:**

  2. Oral Communications:** Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.
  3. Knowledge:** Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
  4. Team Work:** Ability to interact respectfully with other employees, professional staff and/or external contacts to offer ideas, identify issues, obtain information or deliver services.
  5. Customer Service:** Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
**Physical Nature of the Job:** Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move through out the hospital campus
