Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician to join our team. As an EV Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric vehicles (EVs) and their components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive mechanics, specialized training in electric vehicle technology, and a passion for sustainable transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on electric vehicles, including battery inspections, software updates, and charging system checks.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure EVs meet regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Install, repair, and replace EV components such as batteries, motors, inverters, and charging systems.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in EV technology and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal training or certification in automotive technology or electric vehicle technology preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Automotive EV Technician or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Duties are performed on the dealership premises, both indoors and outdoors and on customer test drives. Work includes frequent movement around the company facilities and the outdoor car lot to interact with customers and other departments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts will include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
