Job Description
This is a temporary, residential position with opportunities for remote work prior to the camp's start date. As a Program Assistant, you will play an essential role in the daily operations of a dynamic and rewarding summer program. Your primary responsibilities will include counseling and supervising international teenagers and young adults, providing academic and excursion support, assisting with meal duties, and contributing to administrative tasks. You'll work closely with students, chaperones, and the program team to ensure the success of the camp.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Supervision:
Act as a role model and ensure students' safety, well-being, and adherence to the student code of conduct.
Monitor student behavior, report issues to management, and enforce appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary.
Academic Support:
Follow up with students and agents regarding missing English placement tests.
Prepare and distribute weekly student rosters to teachers.
Assist teachers with technology and ensure smooth classroom operations.
Track student attendance and follow up on absences.
Print and distribute student end-of-course certificates and other academic materials.
Excursion & Activity Support:
Help with booking and confirming excursion tickets and transportation (e.g., MetroCards).
Assist activity counselors in planning and preparing for excursions.
Ensure the smooth departure of students for excursions and solve any issues that arise.
Lead excursions in case of emergencies, and take photos/videos of students.
Help organize on-campus games and activities.
Meal Duties:
Supervise students during mealtimes and ensure appropriate behavior in the dining areas.
Liaise with cafeteria staff for food-related requests and manage food deliveries on campus.
Track food inventory and make restaurant reservations for group dinners.
Arrival & Departure Responsibilities:
Assist with student pre-arrival paperwork and coordinate with agencies and parents.
Help with room assignments, ID issuance, and other preparations at the hosting institution.
Support arrival and departure days by conducting room inspections, welcoming new students, and facilitating student check-ins and check-outs.
Administrative & Miscellaneous Duties:
Participate in setting up and closing down the camp, assisting with office tasks, and managing supplies.
Maintain communication with the host institution, agencies, and other stakeholders.
Handle student and chaperone inquiries, and ensure the office and common areas are tidy.
Assist with student health needs, including supporting sick students and coordinating necessary care.
Document camp activities with photos and videos, updating social media regularly.
General Support:
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.
Provide emergency support, assist in managing incidents, and maintain communication with the management team.
Complete any other tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the camp.
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. university with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Native fluency in English.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Hours & Compensation:
Work Hours: 48 hours per week, 6 working days per week.
Compensation: $300-$400 per week, paid weekly.
Housing: Shared dormitory accommodation provided on-campus.
