2D Medical Illustrator

About Us

We are a forensic animation company that works with personal injury attorneys to create accurate and compelling medical illustrations for trial and mediation. Our work helps legal teams effectively communicate complex injuries, medical procedures, and anatomical damage to juries and insurance adjusters.

We are seeking a highly skilled 2D Medical Illustrator with experience in forensic and medical-legal visualizations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in anatomy, medical imaging interpretation, and injury visualization, with a keen understanding of how to present medical evidence in a clear, persuasive, and legally admissible manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed, anatomically accurate 2D medical illustrations of injuries, surgeries, and conditions based on MRI scans, X-rays, and medical reports.
• Create detailed, anatomically accurate 2D medical illustrations of liability and mechanism of injury illustrations that convey the moment in time an injury occurred and how it happened.
• Design before-and-after visuals to demonstrate trauma, fractures, soft tissue damage, and surgical interventions.
• Develop cutaway views, labeled diagrams, and step-by-step surgical procedure illustrations to support legal arguments.
• Work closely with personal injury attorneys and medical experts to ensure accuracy and clarity.
• Understand complex medical terminology and ability to translate it into visually compelling illustrations.
• Ensure all medical illustrations adhere to courtroom admissibility standards and can withstand expert scrutiny.
• Communicate with attorneys to understand case requirements and tailor illustrations to case strategy.
• Review medical records, operative reports, and diagnostic images to extract key details for illustration.
• Revise and refine illustrations based on client feedback and expert witness input.
• Maintain organized project files and meet case deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in medical Illustration, Biomedical Visualization, or a related field.
• Board Certification (CBIM) through the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) is a plus.
• Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software (Maya, Vray) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy, pathology, and surgical procedures.
• Ability to interpret MRI, CT scans, and X-rays accurately for injury visualizations.
• Understanding of personal injury litigation and demonstrative evidence standards.
• Experience collaborating with expert witnesses and attorneys.
• Ability to create visuals that are neutral, accurate, and legally admissible in court.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Professional communication skills and client-facing experience.
